Annual Sustainability Reports

X-Press Feeders has produced our 2023 sustainability report and we wish to share it with our customers and suppliers. This report covers reporting period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023, summarising our progress, achievements and challenges across a broad range of sustainability topics. This report has been written with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative Standards.

Annual Sustainability Report 2023

X-Press Feeders has made significant progress in 2023. Our new build programme saw the delivery of our more efficient and largest vessels to-date. This has contributed to the improved efficiency of our fleet in 2023. In 2023, the average Annual Efficiency Ratio (AER) of the fleet has reduced by 20%, and the fleet’s Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI) has reduced by 32% compared to their respective 2019 levels. These reductions bring us closer to our corporate sustainability goals. On the diversity front, we take pride in maintaining a robust gender balance, with females constituting 46% of our workforce and increasing the representation of women in managerial roles to 40%, up from 33% in 2021.

Annual Sustainability Report 2022

In 2022, X-Press Feeders celebrated our 50th anniversary. Even as pandemic-related challenges receded, disruptions to international trade continued from other global events such as rising costs of living. Despite these challenges the report shows our company's progress across a broad range of sustainability topics.  This includes achieving a 2% reduction in our fleet's carbon intensity compared to 2021. The report also includes updates to our goals, which include reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, with interim targets of 20% reduction by 2035 and 50% by 2040.

Annual Sustainability Report 2021

In our second sustainability report, it summarised our progress in achieving our aim of reducing absolute GHG emissions and reaching net zero by 2050. We have performed our first-ever plastic audit for our fleet. The pandemic had provided several workplace challenges and we had developed hybrid working tools for onshore employees and addressed the issues of crew changes. Diversity and fair employment statements were updated within our company-wide compliance policy and a separate non-discrimination policy was developed. Our extensive community engagement and philanthropy programme continued through 2021. We will continue to communicate our progress, achievements, and challenges in our future sustainability reports.

Annual Sustainability Report 2020

We are excited to announce the release of our first sustainability report. Sustainability has always been at the heart of our organisation, and we are delighted to share where we are on this journey. This report gives an honest reflection of our performance highlighting the areas we are proud of but are also taking steps to improve which hopefully will be reflected in future reports. 2019-2020 was a transitional year in many respects both bad and good. We are tremendously proud of the efforts of our team during this particularly tough year, and how we responded to this global emergency through compassion, resilience, and innovation.
